The ball is a tough leather-based-seamed spheroid, using a circumference of nine inches (23 cm). The ball features a "seam": 6 rows of stitches attaching the leather-based shell in the ball to the string and cork inside. The seam on a fresh ball is prominent and aids the bowler propel
